Ancestry in Minnesota

Minnesota is the 22nd most ÿÿpopulous state in the US, but more than half of the population lives in Minneapolis, St. Paul. Given that there are lakes in most areas, the urban center hosts 55% of the area’s people, which serves as the state’s hub for business in general. Other notable urban centers include Mankato, Rochester, and Duluth.

The Europeans started settling in the region in the 17th century and replaced the indigenous dwellers. Since then, most of the development projects were from the French, who held the territory as part of Louisiana before the US purchased the land in 1803. Now, it’s a state that feeds the nation with timber and agricultural produce.

There are also lots of railroads here. Population growth in Minnesota came in after the whites’ settling in the mid-19th and the beginning of the 20th century. Most of them came from Germany, Scandinavia, and central Europe in places like Slovakia and Czech. So, the state’s current population is made by a mixture of these races, the indigenous and African American people.

The living standards in Minnesota rank among the highest in the US. There are more educated people here, and diversity dwells due to different cultures and innovations.
